| The are good for soil compaction issues, but they are a long season crop, I think there was a legume you could intercrop with it that helps provide nitrogen.
I thought I found some research on it last year or the year before. They do beans in africa and europe or were testing them, but you aren't going to have the equipment to harvest. (technically you do, because they harvest by hand. I wouldn't expect you to harvest beans that way, sunflowers wouldn't be that bad.)
