Subject: RE: Row Cleaners

NC South Dakota
I tried and it works great in 90% of the field.
But that 10% with very heavy corn stalk residue, it just doesn't cut it.
24Row 22" planter and I put on yetter sharktooth 2967 row cleaners with depth bands this spring.
worked great for beans on beans.... Then I got to cornstalks....... It was a nightmare plugging with residue.
Took off the trailing row cleaner wheels and it didn't plug anymore....

I love our dawn GFX on the 30" corn planter but just keep plugging in mind with narrow rows, not sure how they would handle that heavy of trash....

Knowing what I know now, Id order a proper single wheel row cleaner. Right now I have 20 years of spare parts......
I just wanted something to move a little trash so I wouldn't hairpin so much residue.
When Its wet I don't care how sharp your blades are, your going to hairpin in heavy trash.
