Galena IL | Pricing a new 24 row 20 Planter. I curranty have Dawn GFX narrow row cleaners To put new GFX on the new planter will cost $42,000. My neighbor says just forget about cleaners and put new disc openers every year. That would be much cheaper. We no-till all the beans into corn stalks and no-till about 1,000 acres of corn into corn stalks. I like the GFX's as we have hills and they don't dig trenches when going up a grade. I'm just not wanting to trade 10,000 bu of corn for them. Anyone running just openers? Clay , silt loom soils maybe a little sand and gravel in the bottoms but they always get planted last.
