For those applying boron, are you targeting a soil test level, a concentration in the plant leaf, or something else? Have you seen yield response in corn and soybeans to boron application, or other side-by-side evidence that the boron is improving plant health?

We have very low levels (according to the labs) of boron, but a few tests in previous years didn't show any evidence that the low levels were affecting anything, so we quit applying it.

For us, my belief is that we need to continue to focus on the big 3 macronutrients - C, H, and O.





While soil tests for boron have gotten better, they are by far some of the least "reliable" soil tests. Tissue testing is far more reliable and accurate in terms of plant uptake and interaction with micronutrients. Heck, all nutrients for that matter.
