NC Ohio
We have done exactly what your thinking since switching to 20 inch rows years ago. We have a 24 row planter and shutoff the 4th row in on one side and as we plant back and forth we have a 40 inch tram every 80 feet. That way we can y drop and apply fungicide on 80 foot. We are very hilly and small fields so works great for us. Also we up the pop on rows along tram 150% more to make up for missing row and have no yeild drag on those rows We have pulled ears on those rows and weigh them against the 20 inch rows and no difference to speak of We don’t use the trams in soybeans we just spray at an angle But we did put trams in some soybeans this year just to see what happens Our email is in profile if you have any other questions
