Actually the goal of AC is not to cool but to dehumidify. High humidity days make them work harder with lot of water coming off from evaporator. Dehumidifiers should help also but they work on same principle as AC. You want to remove humidity to make it comfortable. You will find as others have said if you raise temp on those hotter days you can still be comfortable at 76-78°
