The odds of it paying big are better on the late planted corn. It still may not yield with early planted corn sprayed with fungicide, but the corn is far more likely to be exposed to detrimental disease with late planting. I don't understand it, but it seems easier for all of us to spray our best looking and earlier planted corn and then give up a little on the later.
