I am a strong believer in no pre. Sold to us by pharmaceutical companies just like the vaccines. The only 2 requirements for weed control is to kill your weeds and do it in a fashion that no yield was lost. I've watched my friends give away 10's of thousands of dollars spraying pre's only to have weedier beans than me.

For me, it is all about the date. Essentially notill here and I want the first pass applied the first 2 weeks of June and the last pass the first 2 weeks of July. Timing the last pass is critical for not having any weeds go to seed. First pass is critical for no yield loss. Can spot spray borders, etc if necessary to avoid yield loss.

Most of my fields haven't been sprayed yet this year and if you would glance across you would assume they had a burndown and pre on already.

One of my favorite contrarian views that allows me to make money.
