Subject: Small alfalfa fields

We have a couple of 3 to 4 acre "patches" of hay that are on rolling ground that will erode quickly if tilled. We put in alfalfa several years ago , but mostly grass now. What would be some suggestions for reseeding to get more hay off of these "patches"???? If we try to put in corn or beans we just seem to pack the ground at planting or harvest or overspray with herbicide the "patches" are just fingers off of larger fields. We put a couple in USDA polinators "wild flowers" that were hard to get to or were subject to creek flooding already.
