Out of pure curiousity, Are you folks in the desert looking at adding things like mycorrhizal fungus during planting time in the desert to both increase the root system of the plant, and to improve the soil structure so the water doesn't run off?

I know there has been some research work in the more arid regions on this from ND to Arizona. I am just wondering if it caught on in larger scales at all now that commercial products have become available.

When we went heavy on alfalfa in our rotation and minimum till in between, our water run off problems pretty much disappeared. That, and Orbiter/I-Wob sprinklers.
