Harvesting corn with a Draper or platform head is really tough on the header and slow going. In fact most dealers will not lease you a head around here if they know you are going to harvest corn with it.
I think part of the problem with ear loss is how the stalk gets whipped around when the snapping rolls catch the stalk.
