Subject: Question about harvesting severely goosenecked corn

perryton, tx
My dryland corn last year was goosenecked so bad that it was hard to tell where one row started and the next one ended. Some of it was leaning over so bad that the ears were nearly touching the ground. I think the cutter did the best he could with a regular corn head but running a sprayer across the ground today I was pretty depressed at the number of ears on the ground. My question is would a platform header have done a better job? This corn was planted at 12K and was about 6 feet tall.
