Many have said it, but timing is key. We don’t water pre flowering typically unless it’s been really dry and the beans aren’t growing, then we’ll water to keep the plants going.

Most of our watering occurs in the R1 - full maturity time. You don’t want to drown them, typically just .7” or so once every 7-14 days dependent on your soil type and weather forecast. Beans don’t like to be saturated, it’s not bad to let the ground dry out between waterings.

Also, test your water. You might be like us and have not so good of ground water. Our pivots turn red and black with the first circle they make and look 100 years old for the rest of their life. You don’t want to put 10”/yr of that kind of water on if you don’t have to. Run them just enough to get the job done, not a drop more
