I seem to be having a lot more trouble the following spring if I don't bale the straw. Had 30 acres that absolutely would not dry out to plant this spring. Wound up pulling the finisher through the mud and got it to dry pretty quickly after that. I like your idea of investing the straw money into poultry litter, you should come out ahead that way
