i agree, and even if you have to stack outside your barn with the bale wagons, you can restack inside with a small telehandler or skid steer with a bale claw attachment.  the one we used growing up was a john deere 4230 tractor with a farmhand loader and a claw that would grab a layer of 15 bales from the bale wagon stack at a time 3 wide x 2 deep.
