Subject: RE: Early Planted Beans Growing Slow

CNY
2 years ago I planted all 30”, 1.6 & 1.9 maturity
Yielded 66 bu/acre on 220 acres very dry that summer
Some rows never closed all the way and I had marestail where it didn’t
So last year I planted all 15” with drill, 1.9 maturity, my first year with Plenish beans. Yielded 57 bu/acre and I had white mold in spots. Pretty good growing conditions
Fertilizer/spray program pretty much the same both years

I really don’t know. Did some of both this year. Bought another set of boxes for the corn planter so I can change quicker. I like the planter better because I can cover more ground (30’ vs 15’ wide). Seem to emerge better with the planter.
