nw NC | Could be ryegrass, but need a much closer picture of leaves plus a picture of root system. If it puts out a seed head that looks like picture below, it is ryegrass.
How much of it is there? No more than I see, walking that field and removing it by hand could be the answer. Use a round point shovel sharpened with an angle grinder and force the point of the shovel under the clump at ground level.
Paraquat solution spot sprayed directly on each clump to the point of runoff would do it also, but you would sacrifice a few corn plants.
