Yes, Select is clethodim. I’ve not been able to get it to move enough to kill the under applied leaf tissue. If volunteer corn gets too big and boom height is to low I have the same problem. One side dead the other still green. It’s like chemistry goes straight down, but doesn’t translocate like Roundup. You are correct that it’s not the same MOA of Liberty or Paraquat family.


That doesn't match my experience with clethodim at all. It's not a contact herbicide. It kills the growing point. If volunteer corn gets too big, and by that I mean it's above boom height, then it still kills the growing point and the top of the plant. The mature leaves will live, but not one side or the other. So I'll see the lower half of a corn plant out there, until the beans eventually get high enough to shade it. But I've never seen clethodim kill one side and not the other side of a corn plant.
