Central Indiana | Ripped up 62 acres in 2019 on July 2nd and planted some 104 day corn that was all we could get. Went 164 across the scales but had perfect weather for it. Was still 32% end of November and quality wasn’t great but it made good corn. We probably only had 25% good stand though so the choice was clear since we dont carry crop insurance. Its only first of June…you can have really nice weather from here on and get an earlier corn and still push 180-200 if you have good soils. We plant some of our best corn around May 25th sometimes and that was only 6 days ago… | |
