Subject: What to plant in old alfalfa field?

Jewell County KS
I baled up a first cutting of a 6 year old alfalfa with some wheat that I drilled into it last fall.. Wondering what to plant it to next? Historically I would spray it out and plant to wheat this fall but also could go in with corn, milo, maybe some sudan or millet. Could drill beans but I don't know how that would go.

We are definitely not wet but have had some moisture in the past 3 weeks. If the timely rain would continue I would go with corn for better options to control the alfalfa.

Anything I may plant now has a fair chance of burning up if it doesn't rain.
