No fall application is a good idea. I understand the thought of doing it but it's just a bad idea.
Out here in drier climates I don't know of anyone applying fertilizer for the next years row crop before early spring. I never have understood why you would want to apply fertilizer in the fall in wet climates.
With all the wet weather, what has happened to the Nitrogen we applied!
