"Here" NH3 is still the cheapest, most effective way to apply N. Many have switched to urea, and after a couple of years have gone back to anhydrous, yields have suffered. Some urea is spun on as side dress, but not much used as main N source. Same with 28 and 32%.
Most co-ops won’t stock it anymore. It’s too much liability. Son works for CO-OP they had a couple close calls and stopped carrying it. It might be cheap, but it is dangerous when accidents occur. Urea spill means get out the end loader and pick it up. NH3 spill, not so much. |
