Nitrogen is still there just a little deeper. We didn’t plant one year till first week of June. Ponds were all full month of May. Had fall applied anhydrous at 185 lbs per acre. Local agronomists said we should side dress another 60 lbs on to make up for what we lost where water stood. We did that on 3 fields and left test strips where we didn’t add any. In the fall there was no difference in yield. Wasted our money.

It's such a tough call! I've seen it go both ways depending on soil type. I'm conservative when it comes to Nitrogen applications and have seen many guys over apply Nitrogen. With this wet weather, depending on the genetics used, Nitrogen could run short which would cause lower canopy leaves to show defeciency symptoms.
