Subject: RE: Cleaning Laudis out of sprayer?

Leesburg, Ohio
It all starts with never leaving the last field of the day until you clean out the sprayer tank and booms.
Never leave any spray solution in either tank or booms overnight!!!

When finishing the last load of the day, before I leave the field, I:
1) stop and run the tank rinse nozzles with clean water from the rinse tank (25-30 gal).
2) Start pump and agitation, and add a quarter pint of Dawn and a shot of defoamer, and let agitate for a minute.
3) Shut off agitation and spray this solution out through booms on the field.
4) repeat steps 1-2-3.

When switching crops, repeat steps 1-2 above, using a commercial tank cleaner, uncap boom ends, and flush rinse solution through booms.
Remove and clean filters.

Did I say NEVER, EVER, EVER LEAVE ANY SPRAY SOLUTION IN THE TANK OR BOOMS OVERNIGHT?
That is where the hard residue comes from that is difficult to clean out.

The procedure listed above by MNRRV is fine, but I have never used bleach or removed tips in 50 years of spraying. But i don't use tip screens, either.
Using Dawn in every load, and every night in the cleaning procedure I use, keeps any residue build-up to a minimum, and makes cleanout and changing crops much easier.

Did I say NEVER, EVER LEAVE ANY SPRAY SOLUTION IN THE TANK OR BOOMS OVERNIGHT??
