East of Broken Bow
I planted quite a bit no-till into wheat stubble.
What worked really well were the finger style wheels with a coulter in the center.
The fingers would 'stretch' the stubble, and the coulter would slice it.
Set the coulter roughly half as deep as your intended seed depth, and have the openers follow the slot.
Your opener disks will last far longer than with just trash wheels or finger trash wheels.
Do NOT run the coulter too deep, and replace it when it stops being 'sharp'.
