Hilltop...some varieties have the tendency to turn purple in cool wet weather...has very little or nothing to do with nutrient deficiencies in those cases.

And yes, Pioneer does have a couple varieties that will turn purple. It does not hurt anything at all in those cases.

This year, here, we have had quite warm weather since planting, and have had zero purple corn, Many years, if it is cool, some varieties are purple until it warms up.
