WC IL | Yes, and the hybrids that don't show purple likely have the same deficiency, they just don't have the genetic background that expresses it.
Had a side by side once where 1 hybrid, from Pioneer, was so purple at the 5 leaf stage it was almost black. The other hybrid, can't remember if it was DK or NK, whichever it was supposed to be their big dog, showed no purple. IIRC, the Pioneer won at harvest by 22 bushels. I think the P number was 3346, been a while. Don't think the purple hurt it. | |
