The acres are split between hard and soft in my area. My thoughts are that hard is the one you want if rainfall is less than 24” annually. Can go either way from 24-30”, hard probably better on more droughty soils in this rainfall area. Soft will out yield hard in 30” plus areas.

Prices can swing though. Last year hard was $1 more than soft. This year I think soft is 10-20 cents more.
