Latimer, Iowa (north central)
How was the rye seeded? What are reason behind the 2 bushel rate? That seems like a lot of seed. We started with rye using a plane at 60 lbs an acre for a couple years then tried 80 lbs with plane because stand was so inconsistent. Still struggled to get consistent results so went to using an air seeder. With the air seeder I have been doing 45 lbs an acre and seeing much better stands then 80 lbs with a plane. Getting stands that are good enough at 45 lbs with seeder that we have cut our premerge chems on the beans. I think the lower rate plants a little easier too. Yours looks like it’s planting well though and very thick stand.

A couple pics of two different practices across creek from each other after this rain.
