coast of Maine | Here,the maturity dates are our main control of harvest times.Planting usually 5 varieties in the same day or 2,then wait a month and do it again.The third cycle we use the maturity dates in reverse as shorter days in the fall makes it easier to predict harvest.Last season sucked as no sun and all rain ,,pushed maturity back 2 weeks.The days to harvest still spaced well despite weather. | |
