Subject: RE: Cultivating rows with MFWD

Latimer, Iowa (north central)
I started at 8 years old with a 2wd dualed 4640 and a 12 row ridged RM Deere, my grandpa got the folding 12 row on a 4430 because the AC worked in that tractor and he would do the odd rows. Still remember hating to close the little window gaps by the creek to keep out the biting horseflys. I sound like an old timer!!

Moved to a 16 row Hiniker 6000 that we sidedressed NH3 with at the same time. Pulled it with an 8650 4wd Deere on 18.4x42s. Had an accutrak guidance wand 3pt on it but we took it off as never seemed to work well. Moved it to a 9200 on 18.4x46's when the 8650 blew a motor. Last tractor I used it on was a 8520. It was much nicer on the 8520 then the previous 2 articulated. Key was not to look back or if you did to take your hands off the steering wheel. We banded all chemicals and would go over everything twice.

Now I just have a 4 row Krause on a 6115 D 2 wd with no cab. only use it for scouring rush and every time after about half a day it really isn't fun anymore.
