Almost all natural death in the wild is very painful for those being consumed by disease and or eaten alive by predatory animals in the food chain.There are darn few that suicide by cars .The few shot and wounded by farmers pales in comparison.The coyotes find the bleeding ones quite fast here and eat them quite well.
