Anything green is competition for water, nutrients and sunlight.

Of course blowing dirt is the biggest yield limiter of all.

That’s why strip till is popular everywhere and you never hear any big debate over if it’s dumb or not. You get cover , but not too much, and you get mineralization from the tillage, compaction busting of your pulling deep, and the ability to band nutrients in the root zone.

I just wish I’d small guys could afford a strip till. They are proud of them.
