Kettle Moraine, WI | I have hills. I always like a mfwd over a 2wd in all conditions as the wider tires and mfwd engaged hold the tractor between in the row versus 2wd steering or tracking via its need to maintain friction traction with the ground.
It becomes second nature because you aren't fighting the front end of the tractor sliding as much that you don't need to adjust as much.
I have considered overinflating my radials so the tractor doesn't slide downhill on the tire squat. Making sure you take a tape measure to tire width and adjust the wheel dish correctly to get narrowest setting is critical. After a few hundred acres, a 3 inch tolerance will seem like a mile. | |
