Northeast Missouri | I've always cultivated 30-inch rows (6-row, 8-row) with a 2wd tractor with 10.00 or 11.00 front tires. Now I need to use a MFWD tractor with 13.9 or 14.9 tires (I forget which) and of course it "isn't pretty": wide front tires run over a lot more crop, and cultivating on contours isn't really possible because the front end cannot move left/right within the row enough to keep the cultivator on the row. (Yes, a cultivator guidance system would help but we probably don't cultivate enough acres to justify one.)
What do you use for a cultivator tractor? Guidance system? | |
