If properly applied to the gut the deer will run back to the woods and should never cause crop damage again. An old timer told me about this method years ago. I think it will still work.
I suppose .308, .223, 7mm or similar applications would be just as effective.
Last year we got summer tags because of deer crop damage from the MO conservation department. The first night spotlighting was a lot of fun because the deer had no idea what was happening. By the second night they had wised up to a vehicle stopping. This is where a night scope and a silencer would of come in handy!
