Subject: RE: Killing western Poison Ivy in Asparagus

coast of Maine
What I would do is cut all the asparagus off just below surface.Ferns included. Then immediately spray the area with glyphosate and a residual herbicide.Perhaps Calisto or Chateau/and a whole host of others labeled but I do not know their efficacy on poison ivy. When we get a bad perennial weed in out asparagus beds we do the cut off and treat, kicking loose soil over any green cuts above soil.Be aware the dead woody vines of Poison Ivy are still toxic to most. Why I did not recommend burning area off as the smoke can cause lung blisters in some.
