Subject: down pressure on grain drill

central PA

I run about 800 psi on the down pressure. I was wondering if I have too much pressure because I see seeds not coming up, especially behind the wheels of the drill. I have a jd1590 no till drill, getting the depth is no problem. I only plant beans 1/2-1 inch down. The reason for 800 psi is because of the variability of the soil hardness
