Southern Illinois | We sowed some bin run wheat after soybeans for the cattle to graze in the spring. They grazed it but did not mow it down like I thought they would. My intention was to put this bottom field in corn but now I'm not sure how well it will do with this much residue. My options now are either disc it under, (I won't really be able to bury all of it.) I could try to cut it for hay, no till it in with some fixed row cleaners, or switch to soybeans. I'd be leaning towards making hay out of it, but it's started heading and wonder if that just won't be worth it.
Updated photos, It's clay bottom ground if that makes a difference
