CNY | I questioned my neighbor last winter about why he always makes a vt pass in front of his no till drill when he plants beans. His reply “Slugs”.
So I guess I am getting my own education. Both of these fields no till drilled on 5/4, same seed, population, drill. Both were beans last year. First 2 pictures field had no cover crop. 4 later pictures field had 100lbs wheat cover crop spun on, killed in April. It has been cool and wet here since they were planted.
I’m just glad I only have 15 acres like the 2nd set, not the whole farm.
I have read many treatments for slugs on here, but based on my neighbors success looks like a vt pass is most effective.
I’m still open to other ideas/suggestions
