Kentucky | leezee - 5/14/2024 21:14 I go about 4-4.5 mph.
If your tractor HP allows, try different speeds which are faster. I started at 5 mph and increased speed by .5 mph increments up to 6.5 mph. As long as the drill continued to stay in the ground, it planted better as I got faster in our soils. I mostly drove 6.5 unless the ground was too hard. I got better loosening of the soil and more crumbling and side fracturing in the furrow resulting in a better job planting. As long as you can maintain depth, you may be surprised at how well it performs at higher speeds. |
