Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80 | On my Ag Leader setup, you have your tractor programmed into the monitor, that shows
A: how far GPS globe is from rear axle B: how far drawbar is from rear axle C: how far 3 point hitch is from rear axle
Once tractor is programmed, then you program in your planter
A: how far "hitch point"(of the planter) is from seed drop tube. {Example : my JD7200 8 row, is a drawber style, and its hitch point is 13 feet 4 inches, from the seed tube drop area = 13'4" is programmed into my monitor, for JD7200 }
Edit: I also have a planter programmed for my 15 row "Soybean" row design, with its row shutoffs programmed for 15 rows.
Once tractor and planter are entered into monitor, separately; THEN you can build a "configuration" with correct Tractor and correct Planter model, as a unit. Example: My configuration shows JD8410 with JD7200 8 Row 6 section [rowshutoffs] (CORN) and I have another configuration which says: JD8410 JD7200 15 row 6 section (for Soybeans)
Now, Ag Leader monitor has some "Defaults" preprogrammed into the monitor and I am happy with those figures/settings, for my row shutoffs (when you get those initial measurements correct, for tractor and planter).
I'll had a chart, that helps if you need to adjust "timing"
