Long story hopefully shorter. I would say 40% of our crop acres are crop share. 80/20. As time goes on markets father from home pay better and we now have a good amount of storage. Obviously I would talk to landowners first, but I was thinking about getting a grain cart with scales and storing grain in the bins and selling later for better basis and hopefully better price. If the landowner agreed would it be fair to pay them the local mills spot price for their share at harvest (basically buying their grain from them) and then selling as my own? Technically they would still be coming farther ahead because they would not be any discounts or shrink. In the past and present crop share grain is hauled and sold spot sale at harvest
