I think it all depends on what the moisture is. Just cover the fan with plastic and let it be but of course check it every couple weeks if not weekly. I like to keep it 14% or lower if carrying it into summer months. Haven't quite figured out why some like to warm it up to a temperature that atrracts the bugs but if it works for you then why change.
