SENE | We have raised it. It does not over winter as good as wheat will.dry and cold were hard on it. You need good growth going into winter. Also plant treated seed as it will have loose head smut if planted on old stubble or corn stalks. The big pluses are it will yield really well. The 50% more isn't far off. Also it will come off 1 to 2 weeks sooner than wheat. We planted pennbar 66, 845, and 919. The 919 is more of a forage variety. If you have more questions ask away. | |
