Alpena MI | Our biggest problem is farming "hunting camps". The land owners know they have to many deer so every year they shoot lots of does (5 is an effective population lowering # if you didn't realize), and they just can't figure out why they still have so many deer and the bucks are so small. Mostly the theory on the bucks is that we don't have good genetics, to which I say bologna. Maybe if the bucks were allowed to get antlers 2 years in a row, the second year their antlers just might be bigger. We make just enough on this ground to keep our interest, but still makes a guy want to throw in the towel on some of those pieces some years. | |
