Central NY | Thanks…we have some acres in program with nrcs, but it doesn’t even cover our seed cost for the legumes and deep rooted species. We cover crop most all of our acres but use bin run wheat, rye and oats depending on the timing and the cost is minimal with spinning them on. We’ve played with other species and get good results, but can’t necessarily pencil it out to do more than the cheap grasses. | |
