NE Indiana | Having been involved with research on AMS ahead of beans for several years the data just doesn't agree with you. AMS always beat all the other sulfur sources ahead of soybeans. We even at one point tried to put down nitrogen with other sulfur sources just to see if maybe the nitrogen was making the difference, but it wasn't. 20 lb/ac of sulfur, so a touch over 83 lb/ac AMS either preplant or early post worked well. The earlier you plant the better yield response. Later planted beans rarely saw a yield increase unless it was on very low OM soil. | |
