Western illinois
I’ve used a 5400 ss as a second bean machine for several years. It has coulters on it and I’ve never had any issues no tilling into corn stalks. Mine has an Early riser monitor on all rows, so it can be dialed in on population. Spacing is typical of a drill meter, but it’s a simple machine and I’ve had good yields behind it. Dump about 40 units of seed in it and drive. I carry mine on an Elk Creek caddy, some are 3 pt. I like the simplicity; I hate working on the row units.
