Subject: RE: Reliable means to decrease slug populations

Frederick, Md
I also have a huge slug issue here in all of my bean fields. I haven’t figured out how to stop them, but a few things that I do do is kill CC early, run a TT over all corn stalks, I wait to plant beans (appears to be the biggest help), and I use row cleaners. Keeping that trash away from the beans when they are coming up helps a lot.

Our weather pattern in April/May always makes a guy think he can plant early….enter this week and it’s been nothing but cloudy, cool, and wet. The kind of weather that slugs used to kill my stands. I am glad I don’t have any beans planted yet.
